Congratulations
to Dr.
Robert Rennie
Recipient
of the 1st CCM
Distinguished Service Award
Douglas
W. Griffith, President, CCM was
pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Rennie, Ph.D., FCCM, D(ABMM),
was the
recipient of the first annual CCM Distinguished Service
Award.
Because
of his extensive research endeavours, Dr. Rennie is well
recognized nationally and internationally and he continues
to teach undergraduates, graduate students, and medical residents
at the University of Alberta. He is the Divisional Director,
Medical Microbiology, University of Alberta Hospital and
the Assistant Director of the Provincial Laboratory for Northern
Alberta. The National Centre for Mycology is also under his
direction. At the national level, Dr. Rennie has been involved
in 23 committees and professional societies, serving in a
wide spectrum of roles. These include President of the CCM
from 1995 to 1998 and President of CACMID from 1986 to 1988,
as well as CACMID Treasurer, Program Chair, and Meeting Secretary.
The first CCM Distinguished Service Award was presented at the
CCM AGM luncheon, held Wednesday November 7th, 2001.
