In
2002 the Distinguished Service Award was awarded to of Queen’s University in Kingston,
Ontario.
Gloria is an FCCM certified member of the College and has
provided leadership in the clinical microbiology profession in Canada.
She has been an outstanding supporter of the Canadian College of Microbiologists.
She served on the executive board for a number of years, has organized
several of the CCM workshops held in conjunction with CACMID, and served
in various other committees for the CCM.
In addition, she is an internationally
recognized leader in education of microbiology students in both the
Clinical Microbiology and Basic Science areas. Her focus lately has
been in the area of interactive multi-media teaching where she has
been involved in the development of novel microbiology teaching tools.
