The award is based on the merit of the research presented in the poster, as well as the student's ability to answer questions on his/her research project. It is expected that the project contributes significantly to the professional development of the student in microbiology. Abstracts are submitted as part of the AMMI Canada-CACMID Annual Conference abstract submission process, but are identified as student posters for the competition.

Each award is valued at $800 and includes an engraved plaque and one year free CCM membership.
AMMI Canada - CACMID Requirements: Work of students, residents and fellows is eligible for a Student or Trainee Award. Students must be in training or have completed their training less than six (6) months before the Annual Conference. Only one prize will be awarded per student/trainee. The student/trainee must be the first author of the abstract. Only one abstract per student may be submitted for this competition.
