Requirements for Admission
(See Examination)

Each application for admission must be accompanied by appropriate proof of academic qualifications and experience and also provide the names and addresses of three recognized microbiologists willing to substantiate the candidate's educational background and work experience.

Academic
Requirements

(See Credits)

A bona fide degree in microbiology is required for entry into the college. Such a degree comprises formal education including 15 full or 30 semester course credits at the university level or equivalent in the Microbiological, Biological, Medical or Physical Sciences.

Candidates not meeting the academic requirements of a degree in Microbiology but possessing a B.Sc. in a subject other than microbiology from a Canadian program or its equivalent may be certified after they have acquired 5 full years of working experience in a microbiological field between the completion of their academic program and the time of applying for admission to the College.

Degrees obtained outside of Canada require an assessment of their equivalence to those offered by Canadian degree programs. Most Canadian universities provide such an assessment and in particular, the Comparative Education Department of the University of Toronto. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain an acceptable certificate of equivalence.
