Membership Renewal Form and Fees
- The College
has developed a procedure to recognize and to designate members with
qualifications and supervisory expertise beyond the basic requirements
for obtaining the RMCCM status. Candidates must have successfully completed the requirement for RMCCM before applying for membership as a specialist. See Examinations. There are three specialist categories:
SCCM(MLS): Specialist Microbiologist in Microbiology
Laboratory Science
SCCM(COM): Specialist Microbiologist in Commercial/Industrial
Microbiology
SCCM(ENV): Specialist Microbiologist in Environmental
Microbiology
For the
SCCM in Medical Laboratory Science, Commercial/Industrial Microbiology,
Environmental Microbiology or Biosafety, candidates must :

have
at least a B.Sc. degree (or its equivalent) in microbiology or related
biological sciences
-
demonstrate that they have accumulated 150 continuing education credits
within the past 5 consecutive years, and
have the following years of microbiology experience:
If highest degree is B.Sc., 9 years of microbiology experience
If highest degree is M.Sc., 8 years of microbiology experience
If
highest degree is a doctoral degree, 6 years of microbiology experience
and

pass
an examination for Specialist certification established for this
purpose by the College.
