Objective: Dr. Pierre Payment, a leader in Water Microbiology in Canada,
will address the role of bacteria viruses and parasites involved in waterborne
infections including their clinical presentation, epidemiology, and diagnosis.

Testing for Bacteria & Parasites - Speaker: Judy Isaac-Renton, Vancouver,
BC
Objective: Dr. Judy Isaac-Renton, who is one of the foremost researchers
on microbial contamination of surface waters in Canada, will present a
review of waterborne infection outbreaks across Canada over the past several
years and the impact on long-term and short-term health of communities.
Underground
Water Dynamics - Speaker: Dan Brown,
Objective: Mr. Brown, Senior Hydrogeologist of Goldner Associates who
had a major role in the Walkerton Inquiry, will review the movement of
water underground and the removal of microorganisms from surface water
on passage into the aquifers that serve as sources of drinking water.
